Have you ever looked scornfully at your lint roller stashed in an odd drawer in your dresser or closet and wondered, “What have you done for me lately?” Well, maybe not if you own pets, but it’s certainly nice to have items that have multiple uses rather than just lint or pet hair removal. Why limit your lint roller? Think of the bright future it could have and all the wonderful possibilities for helpful things it could do. Or I could just think of them for you! Here are a few of the endless ideas for great uses for a lint roller. Prepare to fall in love with that little stick of sticky saving grace — it is your new best friend.

Dusting Lamp Shades and Drapes

Lamp shades and drapes collect dust as their second job. I am 93% sure that they get paid for it because they are so good at it and work incredibly hard at it. How frustrating is it to always be dealing with cleaning these kinds of surfaces that are not meant to be thrown in a washing machine or sprayed with cleaner? You will be pleasantly delighted to find how easy it is to clean these items with a lint roller.

Cleaning Out Bags

If you are anything like me, your purses, messenger bags, backpacks seem to be especially talented at gathering the tiniest little crumbs and odd particles in the bottom seams and corners. Yes, dumping everything out can help, but it rarely gets the last fine dusting of nastiness out. Swipe it down with a lint roller and enjoy the feeling of having a fresh, new bag again.

Cleaning Spaces in Your Car

Dusting the upholstery and surfaces of your car is a great reason to keep a lint roller in your glove box or center console. Dust tends to build up before we even realize it, and it’s nice to have something to clear it away at a moment’s notice. Lint rollers can also be great for picking up crumbs and various small mystery objects that gather in the seat cushions or floors.

Craft Room Damage Control

If you have ever had a glitter emergency, you know how terrifying it is to be in the midst of a glitter spill not knowing if you will ever be able to rid yourself of the aftermath. No matter how much you think you clean glitter or little paper pieces, they always seem to reappear. They do not respawn, despite popular belief, and they can be contained. A lint roller is the unlikely hero in this case. One or two swipes and the glitter infestation is exterminated.

Dandruff and Flaky Skin Cleanup

Dandruff is not only embarrassing when it appears on your clothing, but sometimes it can be pretty hard to get off. A lint roller can pick it up quickly and easily as well as give better reach for flakes that may have fallen on your back. Flaky skin can also be annoying to brush off clothing, but this can be easily remedied with a mini lint roller in your purse or backpack. Whether your sunburn has decided to finally peel off or the weather has decided to turn dry and make your skin shed like a snake, you can use the lint roller to get remove it from not only your clothing but also your skin!

Carpeting or Furniture Cleanup

Furniture is one of those things that are hard to clean. Wiping it down with a lint brush can get hairs, crumbs, lint, dust, etc., off with ease. It will help keep your furniture looking beautiful and clean without worrying about staining or steaming anything. Usually, you would use vacuums for carpet but with some carpet textures, a lint roller can often pick up odd objects easier than a vacuum.

Glass Shard Cleanup

A genius new way to clean up glass safely is to use a lint roller. The big pieces can easily be picked up or swept up while the little fragments and shards tend to get left behind and cause havoc on unsuspecting passersby. Using a lint roller to sweep up glass is a good way to ensure that all tiny pieces are disposed of and out of the way.

Cleaning Up the Insides of Drawers

Drawers are another one of those evil inanimate objects that seem to be thrilled about collecting little nasty tidbits in their remote corners. Easily dispose of these unwelcome collections using your handy dandy lint roller friend.

Cleaning off Speakers

Speakers can be frustrating to clean since some have tons of tiny holes that trap dust and others have fabric or mesh that attracts dust. Lint rollers will help with the majority of the dust without you having to worry about ruining the speakers with a dusting solution or buying a pricey electronics cleaning system.

Cleaning up Fuzzy Looking Towels

If you are like me and love to get your money’s worth out of your towels and linens, you have probably noticed the annoying collection of lint on pilling towels and fabrics. It can be a hard thing to get off without damaging the item, so I would suggest trying a lint roller on them to get the excess pilling off and freshen them up a bit.

Bug Removal

This is a genius solution to a daunting task that many dread. Picking up bugs and spiders whether they are dead or alive is just icky. Swiping them up with a lint roller rids you of the close contact since you are safely holding the handle and not the area that is picking up the bug. Have no fear, lint rollers are here!

I could go on because there are more uses, but I’ll let you use your imagination from here. The lint roller is now much more than a friend to pet owners or a stowaway in the back of your closet that you rarely use. You will want one of these magical contraptions stashed in every part of your life — purse, car, junk drawer, etc. — because the uses are endless.
